Have a humidifier I haven't used in at least 6 months there was water still in it. Now I'm attempting to clean following manual instructions but I'm thinking I should chuck it buy a new one and maintain it properly.

Didn't bother smelling it. The reservoir tank did not appear moldy but no way to know what kind of stuff built up in the filter (it's one of those central unit things):A more legit answer..
Is it stinky as hell? Mold? Was it expensive?
Unless it was a really nice one just chuck it in the bin and get a new one if either of the first two conditions apply.
