No.
Cupping and acupuncture have been used for thousands of years. Both are useless.
Yeah, cupping has been ridiculed by the professionals.... I agree.

The first line of that paragraph says it has no effect.I'm not sure about cupping, but acupuncture can be a recommended medical treatment per evidence-based guidelines.
It's pretty good for causing staph infections.

I did. It shows some statistics that support the placebo effect existing (completely agree) and ads a caveat that acupuncture should be used with actual medical treatment. Again not surprising. We know medical treatment works, and that acupuncture does sweet FA.Did you read the rest?

None of that ever happened. I stated that being old doesn't validate a treatment's efficacy. Nothing more, nothing less. I haven't stated an opinion on cold water treatment. You made an assumption based on that original statement. I can honestly say that I haven't done enough reading about cold water therapy to have an opinion on its efficacy. Based on what I do know I would say it has some validity and unlike many other alternative treatments doesn't have the same potential for substantial negative side effects.I am not denying anything. I am puzzled by how you claim placebo effect on anything as an alternative treatment. To go back to cold water therapy, there is enough evidence to support it is legitimate and valid. But you disagree and that is totally fine. As for other type of treatments alternative to medicine and painkillers, I welcome them and read up on them as much as

Things like cupping are all risk and no reward.
That is what I have read. But mostly it is in contrast what hot water does to your skin, it stresses and dries out the skin more thus the skin reacts by releasing oils. I am open for correction though, been a while.I thought you were always supposed to end showers with cold water to close your pores and avoid acne.
