My gf (a New Zealand citizen) and I recently spent 3 weeks in NZ, largely to spend Christmas with her family but also to explore a bit.

Her family live in Auckland, so we spent most of our time there and in the areas around there, and we also spent 3 days in Wellington. We loved it so much we think we want to move there, particularly Wellington as we just instantly fell in love with the vibe of the place.

Here are some photos of the beauty of the joint. Admitedly they were all taken by my gf as she talented and Im not haha...Might post some more if any of you are interested...Feel free to AMA too..

This is me drinking a coffee on the front deck of my gf's parent's place...Note the FUCKING AWESOME VIEW of this joint...They don't even live in a posh suburb and their house is pretty average. Amazing.

This here is the parliament of New Zealand, colloquially known as the BeeHive..I did my Bachelor's degree in Political Science am even an internationally published political analyst (not that great, believe me), so to come here and see the NZ PM and the NZ House of Parliament debating was one of the highlights of this trip for me.

My gf and I stayed in this lighthouse in Wellington on our last night there..Pretty cool to tick off the ol bucket list and the views were fucking fantastic. It wasn't that comfortable though, so glas we only spent a night there.

Cheers mate. I dunno if its because Perth is pretty average at best, but I really liked NZ in comparison..Her folks even lived in Perth for a good 6 years and they felt the same way. Saying that though I did spend nearly a year in Melbs and, though I loved it, probably still would prefer NZ all told.

Their Masterchef is inferior to Australia's is all I know really about NZ, but I definitely get your point.

How was the coramandel? I think you were there when I was in rotarua. We skipped it worried that it'd be too congested being tourist season and all.

Really wanted to check out sphyx rock at cathedral cove.

Ended up checking out the poo pools (geo thermal ponds) in rotarua and then took a hike up Mount. Maunganui in Tauranga.

You might have me confused with BJTT_Kiwi @BJTT_Kiwi mate..I never planned to go to the Coromandel, good thing too as I heard it got flooded in for a few days last week!

That’s awesome man! What was Tauranga like??
Tauranga was good. Nice ocreanfront walk with shops and pubs/diners overlooking the waterfront. Beautiful beaches for picnics, surfing and walks.

The hike up the mount was great. It was funny, seeing as we went new years day, and you could see the look of regret and resentment on the faces of those who spent all night partying! Was a relatively easy 1.5 km hike with some steep inclines but it was 25 degrees first thing in the morning. It was busy and some guys were really struggling.
