Time for the new thread, the old season is over and done with.

First news for the 2024 season, possible new kickoff rules to encourage returns without major concussion risks (which was why the kickoff rules were changed to what they are nowadays).

Also there's the possibility of allowing unbalanced formations during onside kicks like they used to (it was always more exciting), but another proposal to only allow onside kicks in the 4th quarter when a team is trailing (no idea why that's being suggested).

Are they going to get rid of that dinosaur ass rule where an offensive fumble out of the end zone results in the defensive team getting the ball at the 20?

That rule must have been written by some dumb sons of bitches. It defies all logic, in every way. Wouldn’t surprise me if Cuntden came up with that stupid, idiotic, moronic, stupid ass, devoid of all thought, horse sense, never played a down of football, decrepit, diaper wearing momo rule that is so stupid it makes me just sit there, again and again in absolute disbelief every time the ball is given to the other team who did fuck all to justify getting the ball.

It discourages the reaching of the football carelessly

Does not make sense to have a player protect the ball for 99% of the field but then get careless at the goal line

I prefer the team/player prioritize control of the ball until the points are on the board, if you risk the stretch then face the consequence.

I'd much prefer it if a fumble through the end zone resulted in the offense getting the ball at the 20 rather than the defense. Still a punishment, but not as harsh.

Yes. Loss of down. Next play is from the 20 yard line.

I saw someone propose a kind of compromise solution, where it depends on which part of the end zone the ball crosses to go out of bounds.

His idea was that if the ball went out of the side of the end zone, the offense keeps the ball at the spot they were beforehand, with loss of down. If the ball went out of the back line, then it's a turnover and touchback the same as currently.

I'd prefer my solution of the offense keeping possession at the 20 no matter where the ball went out of bounds, but that guy's idea is better than nothing.

That’s the problem. Half ass solutions are what makes no sense

“oh, he muffed the return , can’t return it”

Rumours are that the Steelers and Browns are the most likely to trade for Brandon Aiyuk:

It would be a blow to the 49ers to lose him, but that's looking increasingly likely after Christian McCaffrey tweeted about Aiyuk being his "former" teammate.

Futures to win the SB. I’m thinking about laying $50 on the Chiefs to pay $300.

I put over $400 on the Denver 5.5 wins over under at +120...I think Vegas is wrong on this one.

I don't see them only winning 5 games, Payton has never won less than 7 and that was with a 16 game schedule...Broncs do have a very tough schedule on paper.

From looking at that, it seems like the "+500" is referring to how much winnings you receive with a $100 stake?

If I'm correct, in the UK those odds would be stated as 5-1.
That's correct. 5-1

I remember seeing this from his friend a few months back and knew things were gonna be bad...

Look for the Raiders to win some low scoring games.

It's straight up baffles me that the Raiders have a harder schedule than the Chiefs.

Broncos have a harder schedule

on paper that is because the chargers broncos raiders all weren't winners last year so Vegas sees KC going 4-2 or 6-0 vs AFC west

KC has easy schedule because AFC West hasn't shown to be better than them recently so AFC west teams are ranked easy on the schedule

Kc wins it all again. They’ll start out mediocre and mainstream media will say they’re horrible…and the they’ll switch the lights on and it’s over for all other teams.
