Of course you should get stripped for missing weight. C'mon now. This talk of kidneys and sodium levels shows that she's cutting WAY too much weight. There's no prizes for cutting it as fine as possible.

My gut reaction was that this was crazy and the UFC was just being a dick.

But the more I thought about it the more it makes sense for the title to be vacated. If a Woodley had made it to 171 and ran out of time, even if he could have cut the extra pound the title would have been vacated as soon as the fight started and only Till could have won it.

This is pretty much the same scenario. It's not like Max being pulled out at the start of the week or Tony blowing his knee out. This is about how they handle a champ missing weight and I think they made the right call.

Stephen Thompson says she was 25 lbs overweight in this video assuming she even cut that much weight it means she is like 30+ pounds heavier than 125 lbs.

I'll see if I can find it but it was reported that her initial weigh in when she arrived to town for the event was 144.5 and I think I've read that she walks at about 146 when not in camp. So she effectively had lost nothing before the week of the fight.

Leigh @Leigh what was the most you ever cut for a fight?
I cut through diet. Usually around 10kg over 3 weeks. I've done 7kg in 4 days and I've active cut (sauna/hot tub) 3kg, which fucken sucked after a week of starving myself.

Cutting 7kg over 10 days worked best for me. I could eat healthily, active cut was minimal and I could put it back on by fight time.

It was a genuine useful rating...starting to feel like useful is as bad as a rainbow around here
I love you still.

This site has ruined the term “optimistic” for me entirely. The other day some one told me “it might be optimistic but our goal is to finish by the end of November.” I snickered like a little kid and they looked at me like I was strange. Me!

I completely understand. Sometimes I get emails at work and my first instinct is to rate them.
