Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz
UFC 183 was a disappointment for Nick Diaz on a number of levels. Now, he would like another crack at Anderson Silva – under PRIDE rules.
Silva (34-6 MMA, 17-2 UFC) defeated Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-7 UFC) by unanimous decision in the middleweight main event before it was announced that both fighters failed drug tests around the event – a third career marijuana metabolite failure for Diaz. While the final punishment for the failed drug tests is still to be determined, Silva has already made noise about a rematch.
Now, Diaz expressed his own interest in a rematch via a message posted on Instagram, but he’d prefer to compete under a specific set of rules.
Diaz wants the fight with Silva to take place in a ring and with yellow cards for stalling, something he believes happened in his fight with Silva in January.
