@Alienator's "How to kill superheroes' thread, & S @Super Dave's "Anyone read Valiant Comics?" thread reminded me of these. While the films fall short in many places, I thought Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Le did a good job overall, especially for a low/no budget fan film.

Nightwing/Dick Grayson is one of my favorite superheros, for lots of reasons. I love the character arc of Grayson being a boy sidekick & growing up to be his own man. As a parent who has one grown child and another who's almost a teenager, I get a weird satisfaction seeing Grayson find his way. Plus he was doing Parkour before the name ever caught on (kind of like Jackie Chan).

There are other Nightwing fan films out there, but this is the only one I've really seen. I'll check them out later & post them if there's any interest. Either way, I'd like to see Warner Bros make a Nightwing film & NOT fuck it up with Hack Snyder's idiotic hero-hating bullshit production (or worse, direction).

Definitely enjoyed it more than recent DC projects. I'm nervous for the day when Warner Bros finally casts Dick.

Hack Snyder < Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Le.

Considering that these guys did The Nightwing Series in their spare time, without months to train & limited filmmaking experience, I'd say it was pretty damn good. Give Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Le time, $$$, experienced actors & I bet they'd make a damn good superhero film. And like you said, it's more fun than the recent DC projects.

It's funny, cause I watched 300 yesterday on HBO & it was hysterically melodramatic. The slo-mo, the fluttering capes, the crazy facial expressions everyone made when they were getting all stabby...The only thing I think Hack's done that really holds up his is remake of Dawn of the Dead.

The Watchmen had things about it I liked, but as a whole...eh. He thinks he can shoot directly from the panel. He has no imagination when it comes to adapting comics to film. And then there was that space fucking to Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah.” What the fuck was that all about?

There were rumors that Steven Yuen/Glenn from the Walking Dead was gonna play Nightwing. Let's say he lands the role & does a good job with it. Hack will STILL find a way to fuck it up.

Watch awhile back. These are the same kids posting minute match ups. Series was definitely decent for what they had to work with. Their deathstroke was excellent.
