If I'm a fighter, there's no way I would fight in that state. Fucking idiots running that commission.

This entire event has been a huge embarrassment to the NYSAC. I hope they comment about these issues, particularly the Weidman issue, in the near future.

I'd have to highly question fighting there, if I were an MMA fighter. Amateur hour.

I understand that dan fucked up, but that 5 minute stall was unfucking acceptable.

I'm sure we will all blame dan because he does deserve some blame, but Chris is the one who tried to milk it for all he could. He was the one he acted hurt up until he found out he was going to lose.

If Chris was indeed hurt, then that is more of a reason to stop the fight. If he was acting hurt, then that's simply his fault.

I can't blame Dan since he had to make a call before seeing the replay. In the octagon that would have seemed illegal. Chris played that up to try to get the win.

Unbelievable shit I'm seeing here

From the weigh ins, implants, now this? Wow
I didn't see the weigh in debacle.
The implant suspension, I can see and understand and them not sticking to their guns cost me time tonight that I just can't get back.
The stoppage is all on mirgliotta. His dopey ass stopped it and I believe the commission did the correct thing by stopping the fight based on his error. Had to stop it.....however, did they make this call after reviewing the stoppage? Can they review a stoppage?

Dan has goofed many times before but at least tonight he was trying his best to make sure he made the right calls ..I give him credit for that.

One odd thing I did notice though prior to the ending was that when Mousasi has Weidman clinched up against the cage he was delivering some solid knees to the thighs of Weidman, almost immediately Dan said "lets work!" ....then when Weidman looks at Dan with the "Come on break this up Look" ..Dan immediately jumped in and broke them up .....thought that was a bit odd.

What do you expect? Took them long enough to get into the game. They could have been seasoned vets by now.

i know weidman had been kneed in the head twice before his interview but i wish he didn't default to american hero mode and used the oppurtunity to bash the NYSAC or atleast point out some issues.

I also hated hearing that him say he knew they were illegal, cool you tried to game the system and got rocked

He really couldn't have been in a worse place to watch the action
I'd argue if he was in proper placement he could have seen the 2nd knee was legal

To be fair to him, it was too fast to tell live action. That's why they need replays. Even in slow motion, it was barely noticeable that the knee came a split second after the hand came off the ground.

It was a clusterfuck but two things remain indisputable facts:

1. Knees were legal.

2. Weidman wanted out of that fight.

So the only person who was 'wronged' wasn't acutally wronged. So what the fuck are we complaining about?

These problems are gonna keep coming up with these shitty rules. Just allow knees to grounded opponents and bam, no more problems, and better still, no more of this lame playing possum shit putting hands on the ground to not get hit. It's a fukn fight for Christ sake!

On another note, hopefully enough people want to see this rematch and the Moose can re-sign for some real doe.

Yes there was a reason MMA wasnt allowed in NY until recently and we see why, you need a competent AC before you can fight. The towel gate was the winner.

the weigh in is up there with the knee, DC misses weigh by 1.2 lbs, walks out of the room then back in within 5 min places hands on towel clearly pushing down and now 205 on the dot

The fact that Weidman clearly acted it up came back to bite him.

The doctors making him do tests you'd give to a drink driver.. what the fuck. Mid any athletic contest almost everyone will fail them due to adrenaline. Never mind in a fight. What a load of absolute bullshit.

As soon as they said legal. "Mr Weidman do you want to continue" yes, we fight, no or a hesitation it's over.

He was about to be sent into a fuzzy sleep anyway. He wasn't coming back from there... He looked gassed and out of it. Gegard was pouncing

Joe Rogan fucked the legal illegal knee..he called to notify Dan of the replay, while there was no replay..he'll probably say it's an honest mistake which it could be but truth is joe has been wanting that a while..

I called it legal live. Definitely possible.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for replays, we are only human and are bound to make mistakes
On this specific example, I really think the ref fucked up big time by not being in the proper place to view the action

Many of us on the live thread immediately saw they were legal strikes upon seeing the replay, you could see Chris elevating before the 2nd knee landed. if Dan was in the same position that we viewed, i think, he obviously would have a better view of Chris hands and thus be able to make a better judgement (it seemed on the live thread, a couple posters saw it was all legal even before the replays)

I'm usually not critical of refs, I can think of 2 times last night where I praised the referee.
Dan fucked up here

They're just cramming way too many events in NY.
Its like if the final whore-house opened up.

they aren't even holding them in the good part of MSG it's like the smaller section some of them look like the FS1 fight night cards in the crappier casinos in vegas.
