Some great games on today.

5:00pm * Cincy vs UCONN - Cincy has beaten UCONN badly twice this year, but UCONN is typically a different team in tournaments.
5:30pm * Nova vs Creighton
6:00pm * Iowa St vs West Virginia
9:00pm * Duke vs Notre Dame
11:00pm * Arizona vs Oregon

Yale / Harvard play at 3:30pm if you want to watch perfectly executed screens, backdoor cuts and unselfish play.

3 technicals. a lost tooth. Physical play on both sides. Raucous crowd.
It's like these two are back in the Big East again back when the Big East was the Big East and not the pussy fuck conference it is now.

When did the game become a game where palming and travelling are constant and never called?

Palming the ball is the most blatant form of cheating, worse than diving in football/soccer

They generally don't call palming unless it is done in such a way as to deceive the defender.

Which is all the time
I agree the call is occasionally missed during play.
They miss calling excessive steps more often, imo. Drives me nuts when a dude can't decide which foot he wants to establish as his pivot so he just keeps changing it.

It's not as bad as the NBA - which is a fucking joke - but it's pretty bad.

A few years ago I was watching a game with Bobby Knight as a commentator and for 2 straight possessions he called out the travels. There were about 5. It was funny. "Travel. Palming. Travel. Dragged his pivot. Changed his pivot. Travel." I was laughing my ass off. Knight gives no fucks.

In the late 90's from what I can remember. So many players started doing it that the referees decided they had to either let it go, or make games 3 hours long. Being old school, I don't like it at all. Gives guys on offense a big advantage.

Maybe it's because I haven't really watched it in 4 or 5 years or that I was sober watching it but it is terrible......you have zero chance of stopping whoever last shot wins scenario

Jordan was actually one of the first to start employing and getting away with the palm/stall move

He was just so fun to watch he was allowed to do it and then street ball era came and it is just part of the game at all levels now

Yeah and another thing they've allowed to happen in college basketball is the offensive player to initiate contact...head down, drive to the basket, jump into the defender and get the foul called. Sadly that has become a huge part of a lot teams offense

They've got a pretty easy road to the Final Four - which I believe is what this bet was about.

On their side I can see challenges from Notre Dame, Florida State or Arizona. All solid programs.
It was about them getting a #1 seed.
