The biggest debate since the stupid dress that shows life's relativity. Where do you come down?
Both have similar frequency paths and you can hear both by changing the pitch of the recording. The shape of your ear, bone density, obstructions in the ear, whether you’re sick or not, listening device, and how your brain interprets pitch all determine what sound you hear... so everyone will hear it slightly different. I do believe those hearing “Yanny” have some type of hearing issue.
I need pics of both to decide. Which one has the bigger tits?
At first I hear Yanny.
Now I'm sick and hear Laurel as my tinitus is screaming.
As @b00ts said, frequency and physical factors.
^^^But this is wrong. It's the other way around.
A good test would be to have a bunch of kids listen, then have a bunch of adults who have destroyed their ears over the years by having their brains to close to a .50 cal.
Red or Orange?
Fuck op, get your shit together.
A speech professor did an interview and used equipment way better than what I have and confirmed it’s Laurel.
What frequency did the professor do the interview in?
I know the “correct” answer, but all I ever hear is “Yanny”
All I've ever heard is "Laurel." Then I read that the correct answer is indeed "Laurel".
And my hearing is absolute dog shit, so if you're hearing "Yanny" then you're probably close to deaf.
I imagine our geriatric members (@Lemonparty Animal and @Fedor>GSP>Bisping) probably hear "yanny".
Well I’m not sure since it was an article and no sound was received from the text. There is also the redditor that started the whole thing by using a recording of “Laurel” from vocabulary.com.
Fun test if you can’t change pitch. Try listening at different volume levels or, if you have the means, on a low-tier audio device and then a more high-end one. You’ll hear each one.
I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about and I’m not going to read through all the shit
There’s a lot of variables that come into play. If you’re on high-end headphones at around 50% volume in a quiet room and you still hear Yanny then yea... I’d go get a check-up.
Thanks @Onetrickpony , @Kneeblock wants us to do all the heavy lifting
Not sure what that video does. I try to make it say Yanny in my mind and I can’t. I just hear Laurel.
Serious deja vu, I swear I posted in this thread already.
Oh fuck...Victoria's Secret help these women out. You could take someone's eyes out with those!
Pertinent information for your situation.
It does exactly what you referenced, changes ranges.
I think they go by ginger, fire-crotch, or short of soul.
It’s a parametric eq. He only took the low frequency out and slightly increased the high range and put Yanny on the screen. It still says Laurel. If you change the pitch, then you can begin to hear differently. I tried filtering out low and high on my own and still sounds like Laurel. Only way I was able to squeeze out a Yanny was a pitch change.
I was reading a piece about this earlier. Apparently people who hear Laurel do so because they have triggered thier gag reflex over a 100 times, mainly from deep throating massive Dingus'
Naturally I only hear yanny.
Yanny. Was trying to hear Laurel in it but can't.
