on the one hand he gets excited and in a way or another promotes Glory/Lion Fight but on the other hand he is responsible for spreading fake storylines like "Ramon Dekkers went to Thailand and beat them all at their own rules", "muay thai fighters just plod forward and stand and bang", "Melvin Manhoef/Kevin Ross/JWP/Joe Schilling are the second coming of striking", "throw a leg kick, you're an elite muay thai fighter" and others.

he is just a semi-educated fan who knows only a few select high profile fighters and thinks they are the best of the best. if he takes an hour to talk about stand up-only fighting you will lose track of how many times he will say "Melvin Manhoef this, Joe Schilling that..." and it will never go beyond this.

another recurrent theme when Rogan has his kickboxing friends on his show is that they usually imply that when they lost fights under full thai rules that the elbows are some kind of cheap shots that keep them from showcasing their otherworldly boxing.
