Parking Lot Dent Repair scams

Anyone else out there get stopped in the parking lot by shady-looking guys in cars offering to repair the dent in their car "for cheap"?

I have a dent in my door and I probably get stopped once a month by these knuckleheads. My wife actually got chased by a car of guys all the way to our gate where they asked if they could repair her dent. What the fuck is the story with this? This is a car-jacking set-up, right? Who falls for this?

No, but I was about to put it on a guy a couple month ago, who accused me of "hitting" his car. Story...

- I pull into grocery parking lot and park in a space
- I go in grocery for about an hour
- I come out and a guy is leaned up against the car beside mine
- As I walk up he says "is this your truck?"
- I say "sure is. whats up"
- He says "you scratched my door with your truck when you pulled in this spot"
- I say "your ass, I did. That car wasn't even parked here when I pulled in, so go try that shit on someone else"
- He says "Yes it was and I'm calling the cops if you don't give me your insurance information"
- I say "well I guess you better call them then, cause that ain't happening"
- He does and tells me I need to wait or I could be charged with leaving the scene of an accident
- I say "there was no accident here dipshit"
- I loaded up my groceries as he stood there waiting
- I left and went home

Never heard shit from the cops or otherwise. Fucking idiot.

Not dent repair but I've seen guys trying to charge you to park in a lot and scam you. The smarter ones wear the yellow/orange safety vests.
