The Professional Fighters League has suspended heavyweight fighter Josh Copeland indefinitely following a report that he was recently arrested for a domestic violence incident.

Below is the official statement from the league provided to MMA Fighting:

“The PFL has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence. Per our company policy, following his arrest, Josh Copeland has been suspended indefinitely.”

MMA Fighting confirmed with the Adams County Sheriff’s office a report from TMZ, which stated that Copeland, 36, was arrested in Adams County, Colo., on Feb. 2 following reports of an attack. Copeland’s wife had “an obvious bruise on her left eye, a cut and was bleeding. There was blood down the front of her face and neck.”

Allegedly, the two were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation that saw Copeland and his wife push each other, Copeland’s wife slap him in the face “multiple times”, and Copeland punch his wife in the face. Copeland allegedly took his wife’s phone, which the police later found in his pocket.
