A couple of boxing fans have sued Manny Pacquiao for allegedly failing to disclose a torn rotator cuff before last weekend’s “fight of the century” against Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao’s team says he reported the injury to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but a form he filled out prior to the fight indicates no shoulder, elbow, or hand damage.

Staphane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran filed suit on behalf of everyone who bet on the fight or purchased the $100 pay-per-view broadcast without being aware that Pac-Man was hurt, TMZ reports. They’re seeking $5 million for consumer fraud and fraudulent concealment.

His team says he disclosed that he was hurt to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency so he could get approval for an anti-inflammatory shot before the event, but the NSAC denied the treatment, saying the injury was never reported to them.

tbh, i asked about this, please let me know so i can hold my bets (well, don't bet, but a lot do) and wouldn't by the ppv...........robbie hart has a point......it's big business, "should we let everyone know?"...."heck no, are you kidding me, you are talking about milliions"......."well, what about all of the good paying people".............it stops there.

I think it's a fine line, if he let's everyone know the that puts him at an even greater disadvantage. The people betting aren't getting into the ring, and most athletes play/fight hurt it's part of the deal imo.

i can't argue with this, just question the fairness.........it's a huge deal though, particularly if that would be your power hand or your front leg, for instance......it's kind of like mike tyson saying, "yeah, i knew my rotator cuff, biceps and forearm were all strained", but he didn't tell anybody and went to fight holyfield the first time........

The fairness to who though?
the betting public is my thought, but am i wrong? you bet on a man who can throw bombs, but wait a minute he can't because he's hurt, but we'll deal with that "internally"........just a thought and what i would be a little concerned about.

I think I don't side with the people placing bets because I don't do it so I don't have anything invested in it and prefer to watch fights/sports for what they are. I don't think it should really matter though because athletes are hurt all the time and playing.

That's why it's called "gambling" my friend :) Don't get me wrong...I see where you're coming from. The betting public feels like they were misled, and from the looks of it, they were. I'm just not sure if they have any recourse. NFL players play hurt every Sunday, and although injuries are supposed to be "disclosed" (you know they do that for Vegas right?)...teams don't disclose a lot of injuries, or tell the truth about a players status. Coaches always dance around it, because they don't want their opponent knowing what is going on. It's a fine line and will be interesting to see how this plays out.

My sympathy for gamblers getting pissed about this is similar to a smoker not being told by their doctor or friends that it's bad for their health. Personal responsibility time children.

You're a good man, and so are the others here, obviously I don't gamble by my post otherwise my stupid as- wouldn't even enter into this debate.....bottom line is, that is a sh-t load of money for a big fight that they fuc-ed everyone on......doubt it would have changed anything, but fuc- if that isn't right, just saying..........how many hunges (yes, my spelling) of millions of dollars/pounds, etc were bet on this.......oh wait, that is the issue isn't it, report it and no fight and no betting......damn, i would be an angry Robbie.

Wooah, woah, woah, hold up. You're telling me smoking is bad for me? I thought it helped clear out my lungs. I've got an awful cough that I've treated with smoking.

Ironically, some of the most "veteran" smokers in my life never got sick from anything, including my grandmother who died of old age.....oh, and disclaimer:
This comment does not reflect the owners of this site, not should you consider smoking a healthy choice and smoking is bad for you. I've been in the UK for too long......
