(Side note, would actually be hilarious if everyone on this site was called into a court hearing about that, and council had to call us to the stand by our profile names here).
this could be the greatest thing that ever happened in the history of the internet

“Alone”
By Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were—I have not seen
As others saw—I could not bring
My passions from a common spring—
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow—I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Then—in my childhood—in the dawn
Of a most stormy life—was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still—
From the torrent, or the fountain—
From the red cliff of the mountain—
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold—
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by—
From the thunder, and the storm—
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view—

Out ta get me
Guns n' Roses

Been hidin' out
And layin' low
It's nothing new ta me
Well you can always find a place to go
If you can keep your sanity
They break down the doors
And they rape my rights but
They won't touch me
They scream and yell
And fight all night
You can't tell me
I lose my head
I close my eyes
They won't touch me
'Cause I got somethin'
I been buildin' up inside
For so fuckin' long
They're out ta get me
They won't catch me
I'm fucking innocent
They won't break me
Sometimes it's easy to forget where you're goin'
Sometimes it's harder to leave
And every time you think you know just what you're doin'
That's when your troubles exceed
They push me in a corner
Just to get me to fight but
They won't touch me
They preach and yell and fight all night
You can't tell me
I lose my head
I close…

  • Take a 5-minute break in your day
  • Compliment someone (and yourself, too!)
  • Give yourself permission to say no
  • De-clutter your mind: write down 5 things that are bothering you, and then literally throw them away

First off, I will be the first to admit to stirring shit to keep a good debate going. However, I try to keep it to a topic and not person.

Now for what it's worth, I think the saddest part about this is the mods getting themselves caught up in this degenerate behavior. Even stooping to setting traps to publically rip on members?

The boss can't be in the game.

Step back and take a look. It's turning to shit.

Playing devil's advocate..... And I will preference this by stating that contrary to popular opinion, I am not a Mod or Admin for this site, just the grappling forum which everyone there acts with respect (since we all train).... Splinty @Splinty Wild @Wild Leigh @Leigh and La Paix @BirdWatcher give everyone enough rope to hang themselves with, and allows us to pretty much police ourselves. They can have their own opinions about the situations even though they're "in charge" of the place.... Hell, if a lot of us think that people are acting like assholes, they can too.

I applaud them, because I see them add levity into the tense situations that arise here to inject humor into it, rather than parent a bunch of grown folks (some who may be older than them). In honesty, it's pretty fair here, and they're allowed to be annoyed too.

that wanker ripped off a Heart song?
Seriously..... What the fuck are you ever trying to say? It's like, words come out of your brain/mouth, but in no discernable order, with no regards to syntax, meter, or the English lexicon. It's like you're permanently speaking in hieroglyphics and interpretive dance (but not the expressive, beautiful, poetry in motion kind of dancing... More like a drunken down syndrome dancer, who may be suffering from a seizure, or rabid raccoon attack kinda dancing). Get it together ya Scouser Scallywag Pirate.

Ahhh so me taking shit from a 100lb pussy for a year til I flip out and ask him to meet me is me toutjng myself as a banger. Maybe I can learn some self control tips from you. How do you keep from flipping out around here?
I can offer advice. Whether you take it not is up to you.

When I first started posting on forums in the 90s, I couldn't believe how much shit people were happy to talk. The internet was pretty new and traditionally shit talking (IRL) resulted in a kicking. This obviously isn't an option with anonymous people on the internet.

A major thing that helped me was to develop a near-god like level of arrogance. I truly do not give a toss what people say about me. Do you get angry if a dog doesn't like you? Do you argue with it? No, it's a fucking dog. And that's how I view people who run their mouths on the internet.

If you remember, you said some obnoxious things to me on the U.G. I don't even remember what it was, I just put you on ignore and you never got a response from me. I had over 100 people on ignore there; their input was irrelevant and would only make my life less fun if I took time to read and consider their dross.

If you want to respond to people who are trying to get a rise, don't use rational logic. They are like broken machines and you can't reason with them. Completely ignore any sentiment to their posts and just make fun of them. NEVER get angry or you lose. If you start to get angry, go back to ignoring them like the maggots they are.

I didn't like CMNH when he first came here. He was cunty to me, too. I just sniped at him with condescending jibberish and ignored his responses to the point he whinged about it and left me alone.

Might not be the conventional approach to dealing with shit talkers but it works for me.

Well you better not try that shit on me, I'm serious,

I'll legdrop the shit outta you

Oh look you guys, I scolded him and he's showing his belly like the good, subservient bitch that he is..... Look at him trying to play nice. He must be afraid of me rolling up the newspaper and smacking him with it, then shoving his face in the shit he made.
