MSNBC drops Tiffany Cross amid slew of contentious on-air statements
Tiffany Cross's show, which ran on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon ET, has been canceled. The network remained quiet on her departure, though multiple outlets have pointed to her string of controversial statements while on air. In her place, rotating anchors will fill the timeslot until a replacement is found, per Variety.
The New York Post speculated that a recent TV appearance during which she derided the state of Florida may have been the catalyst for her ouster.
"Florida literally looks like the d–k of the country, so let's get rid of Florida," Cross said Thursday on "Hell of a Week with Charlamagne." "Let's castrate Florida." Cross was responding to a question about states the Democrats could survive losing in the midterm elections.
Though Cross helped to attract a diverse audience to the network, her repeated inflammatory comments led some to celebrate her leaving. Former NBC anchor Megyn Kelly discussed Cross's departure on her SiriusXM podcast, saying "Tiffany Cross, the most racist person in all of television – and in particular on MSNBC – just got fired. Poor Tiffany."
