Writer Mike Baron has won an Eisner award & created indie superheros Nexus and Badger. He's also written issues of The Flash, The Punisher, Deadman and Star Wars.
Now he's crowdfunding a comic called Q-Ball. It's about a guy who studies Kali/Escrima & gets caught up in a conspiracy involving human rights abuse, the Chinese government, the Tongs, and a group of international cutthroats. Here is the Kickstarter page:
