WTF? The guy can grow back a severed limb, but he can't heal his skin after the experiments? I'd like an explanation.

My guess would be the damage to his skin was done before he got dem powerz.

Also a thread for Geek Haven.

His powers made his cancer super aggressive so it's constantly battling. Hence his skin never fully heals.
I feel like they covered that in the movie? Maybe not I only saw it once.

Rob Liefeld created the character. That's the beginning and end of the explanation.

The movie was a lot of fun tho.
Don't get me wrong. I love the character most of the time in comics and the film was great, but his origin story was typical 90s era wtf nonsense architected by one of the worst successful artists in the history of comics.

Aren't most origin stories ridiculous? Gamma rays, spider bites, comes from another planet, bizarre expermient accidents (or successes) etc...

the origin of Drizzt is pretty gnarly. nothing but a hard upbringing, a good work ethic, and a gigantic heart :p

I'm a big deadpool fan. This is no secret.

He had cancer, then the weapon x program imbued him with the healing factor. They never cured his cancer. Like S @Super Dave said, his body is just constantly regenerating from it. Hence he looks like one big fucking tumor all the time, except that one time during secret secret wars.

Also, off to the haven we go! :D

That's quite the look for Deadpool.

I just always thought the guy looked like a shit ton of scar tissue as a side-effect of healing too quick. Just a realistic sort of approach to how a power might not be as seamless and easily implemented as is usual with comics...
