Why didn't he stop the bus, tell the driver to swing the door open, and go inside?

That seems like the more easier and direct route to Khabib than picking up all that heavy shit and throwing it on the bus.

Dana was interviewed by someone and asked if he was going to fire Conor. His answer was that bc Conor is an independent contractor, he can't simply fire him.

Which is a bullshit diversion, because he could very easily terminate Conor's contract, but he prob knew the reporter wouldn't ask that.

To answer your question, the driver was never going to stop and open the doors so someone can come in and fight one of his (presuming it was a male driver) passengers, he'd be fired and his company would lose a lot of contracts.
This was all for entertainment and Conor took it to the next level; he's already promoting his next match imo.
