Let the hate commence.

Sage Northcutt, the UFC's much-maligned young prospect, has signed an individual sponsorship deal with UFC apparel partner Reebok, he announced Wednesday on Twitter. Northcutt joins a roster that includes fighters like Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, Paige VanZant, Chris Weidman, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Anthony Pettis, Johny Hendricks and Rory MacDonald.

Reebok is the UFC's official apparel sponsors, so every fight wears the brand and gets paid for it. Northcutt and the others have a side deal that apparently pays them more money.

I ain't mad at him. I guess I just assumed that he was already one of the few who got a side deal. Sounds like he has a good manager. Wonder how much the deal is for. Having said that, fuck reebok.

Good for him, now if everybody had the same oppertunity to get extra sponsor money it would be even better.

Its a joke that he could land a deal like that off a loss this early in his career. I feel over half the roster deserves more show and reebok money than Sage.

But atleast he could go model for them after he loses a few more.

That list of fighters makes it easy to guess who Reebok's target consumers are.

It is, but perhaps they got him cheap?
I was thinking his deal is PROBABLY similar to Paiges. Reebok is looking for models/fighters, in that order. Even if they got him cheap its still great exposure that i think others earned more. Since he's coming off a loss im surprised they didnt wait to see in he wins his next fight before inking him.

How many fighters are going to consider free agency over making less than 20k per fight from reebok while others less deserving competitively make twice as much. My guess is 1/3 of the current roster will test free agency after their current contract, and i feel that alot will re-sign just to avoid the matching period.

I'm surprised it took this long to sign him. He's the only fighter on the roster that's super positive about everything and won't bad mouth his deal or the product.

The guy was pumped about fighting on The Fight Pass.

I could not imagine other sports doing this.
Think about the NBA banning players from wearing any gear but the brand the nba was sponsored by, then only paying a hand full of players extra for the deal.

Looks like BLAF's feeding his favorite pets again.

How long till he gets his ass kicked out of the sport & ends up doing B-rate martial arts films? Or will he play bit roles in big films like (va)Gina Carano?
