It appears as though Dominick Cruz's luck is changing for the better.

Cruz, who once again became undisputed UFC bantamweight champion on Sunday following a split decision victory over T.J. Dillashaw, was told by his doctor earlier this week that he has a minor tear in his left plantar fascia. He will not require surgery and should be back to 100 percent healthy in four-to-six weeks following a brief stint in rehab.

That brings us to who the new champion wants next.

Cruz, who was somewhat hesitant to commit to a third fight against long-time rivalUrijah Faber following the win, told MMAFighting.com on Thursday that he's now all in on the trilogy.

"For the past four years, the only name I've been asked about is Faber," Cruz wrote via text message, "whether I'm on the FOX desk or shopping at the mall. Let's get him out of my face and out of the way, so I can continue to clean out the division.

"We owe it to the fans to make this trilogy happen. It's been almost a decade in the making."

Smart move on the ufc part. They will build it up. If faber somehow wins then they have him vs tj in a master vs apprentice match.

If cruz wins then it's on to the big rematch with tj.

Expect tj to annihilate someone in the Co main and call out the winner

Not very excited for this, I don't see Faber having a realistic chance. Throwaway-bout.

His striking has devolved so much over the past couple years, it's incredible. Faber never throws combinations anymore, and lunges with the right hand way more often than he ought. Cruz would pick him apart, and in horribly embarrassing fashion.

It makes sense. I was excited for that fight throughout the lead-up with TUF 15, which coincidently was one of the last good TUF seasons.

Hopefully Sterling or Almeida can get a fight with TJ while Cruz fights Faber.

Not sure this fight even happens. TJ will need to stay in shape in case Dom doesn't stay healthy through training camp. I love the idea of a 3rd fight, but Faber vs TJ seems more likely to happen imo.

you'd be surprised what faber is capable of in a fight against Cruz... I pick Cruz to win but not as easily as you think.
