A pair of welterweight sluggers have agreed to meet in Seattle. MMA Fighting reports veteran Thiago Alves will take on up-and-coming Mike Perry at UFC 215.

Trying to begin a new win streak after his unanimous decision win over Patrick Cote in April, Thiago Alves (22-11) snapped a two-fight losing skid, with losses to Jim Miller and Carlos Condit. Alves has not won more than two fights in a row since a 2006-2008 run when he was only stopped by then champion, Georges St-Pierre.

Mike Perry (10-1) also looks to start his own streak. After losing a decision to Alan Jouban in December 2016, Perry followed it up with a KO of Jake Ellenberger in April. All of Perry's 10 wins have come by way of KO. He also…

this isn't going to go well for Alves. I'll always have a soft spot for him, his win over hughes when he was over a +300 dog built my gambling bankroll when I bet way too much of my net worth at the time on him, but he hasn't looked good recently & that's not going to change against perry

I got Alves, think people have written him off as a fighter a little too early. As long as he avoids the strikes of Perry which he easily can with his style he will win by leg destroying decision. I dont think Perry will be able to walk to the locker room, but will come out mostly unscathed and frustrated.
