Anderson Silva has reportedly had R$ 6 million (roughly $ 2.170 million US) blocked by the UFC due to his pre-fight drug test failure. Veja.com.br reported the news, stating that the money will be released after the Nevada Athletic Commission has made its final rulings on Silva's case. The amount is the sum of his $600,000 purse to show, win bonus of $200,000, and his pay-per-view points.

Correction: Bloody Elbow was mistakenly under the impression that the amount originaly reported was in Brazilian Real and not US Dollars. The post has been updated to reflect the understanding that the original amounts listed were in fact in US Dollars and not Real.

This is probably only until the NSAC levies their punishment and fine. He will get the rest at that point.

i dont beileve this is true, the UFC would rather reward drug users then penalize them. Had the kept the money they would have taken him off TUF as well.

Apparently this is all together not true. The Ufc can't legally stop payment for ppv points and the commission handles his fight purse
