... I don't want to make this thread a political debate.

Just a thread where we can share a common interest in firearms and anything pretaining to the idea.

If like to a thread where we can share information on the matter without prejudice.

My own question is: what would your self defense 9mm be?

I have a 9mm on my nightstand to protect against anything that might go bump in the night.

Would like to know what any fellow TMMACers opinion might be on what ammo they may choose.

Mine is Sig Sauer V-Crown 124grain.

Good ammo from a reputable company but heard they may have jacketing issues over time.

Any thoughts on the matter will be appreciated...

Like I said. Hope this thread can be for anyone with interest in this topic can post.

Please no political or otherwise negative postings...

Thanks.

To answer your question though...

For home defense, I use hollow points...
Mixed FC Luger and Winchester.
Alternating between 124g silver jacket lead splitters and 115g brass jacket silver bullet splitters.
Just to mix up the damage.

Nice.

Do you feel any differences shooting 115 to 124 grain?

They say 115 is more snappy IE more Recoil while 124 is less.

I shoot exclusively 124 as it is middle ground as far as 9mm goes.

I could get 147 grain HST Federal Bullets for example.

But 124 V crown is in the middle as weight is concerned.

And it's still a performing bullet.

I was thinking of picking up 124 federal HST.

Great ammo with a track record service in Police Department all across US but it's a bit pricey..

Maybe a little difference yeah, definitely between the 147 & 115.
I've never had issues with 115 not feeding but have heard it's possible, so I figure to leave 115 at the range.
I think 124 is right on as the middle ground.

a friend just finished decking out a HK VP9...very nice rig, fit my hand well, fun to shoot...

if I was to get a 9mm, either that or a PX4 (so I could share mags with a CX4)

Building a AR little at a time.

All I gots is a Lower with Fire Controls and Grip.
(Lower)

And a Aero Buffer Tube with H2 Buffer and Tuned Recoil Spring.

Looking to make a "Pistol" Ar with a 11.5" Upper.

The build had been on the back burner with the holidays and other personal matters.

Tried for a black Friday deal but missed out.

Might get things going again the beginning of next year.

I'll update the progress.

One of my buddies has a skal or some shit. It looks like a rifle but it's a shotgun. He also has a civvy version of a p90. It was funny because he couldn't go shoot them because they weren't Cali legal.

If I were to get a gun, and I'm considering it, I want an AK-47 so I look like a Taliban

The inside of a house makes for a lousy backstop. Kind of the same reason 38 Special is generally recommended over 357 Mag for the same purpose.
hogwash (edited to add that, don't get to use it enough)

anything that will penetrate deep enough to stop an attacker will penetrate several walls of drywall.

over-penetration is the neighbor's concern.
