So the last road trip to Laos thread I did ended up with me doing terrible things to a woman I met in a hairdresser's in Bangkok and not going to Laos.

I'm on the bus straight there this time.

Had a beer or two.

Got talking to a tramp. Gave him a dollar.

Off we go.

The place I'm going to is called Savannakhet. There is a Thai consulate there where I can get a new visa. It's the second largest city in Laos. Vientiane which is the capital is the largest.

Savannakhet has a population of about 100,000 people.

It's a fantastic place. The people are great and it's fucking cheap.

A beer in a restaurant will cost roughly $1.

Last time I was there I bought a kilo of coffee direct from the factory for $2.50.

And because of the French colonial influence I'm planning on mainly eating baguettes and pate for the next two days.

Passport is at the Thai consulate.

Checked into a guesthouse.

24 hours to get wrecked. Expect the quality of my posts to get worse and worse from here on in.

Last time I was here there was a goat stood on top of that car.

I asked him where the goat was.

He said he released it into the mountains.
