Robbie Lawler was just hanging out one day earlier this month when he got a few unsolicited calls. Everyone wanted to know how he got injured and if he was out of his fight with Carlos Condit at UFC 195.

"I got calls saying, 'Hey, are you hurt?'" Lawler said Monday on a media conference call. "[I said,] 'Um, no I'm just sitting here relaxing.' I just had no idea anything was going on, because I don't really get on social media much. So, maybe a couple days later I kind of figured it out."

Warrior Fight Store, a fight shop up in Ontario, posted Dec. 3 on Facebook that Lawler was unable to make a scheduled appearance at their establishment due to an injury. There was rampant speculation that Lawler was going to have to pull out of his scheduled welterweight title defense against Condit, which is scheduled for this Saturday in Las Vegas.

MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reported later that sources informed him that Lawler was fine. Warrior Fight Store has since deleted the Facebook post.

"I guess some guy up in Canada thought I was gonna do like an appearance three or four weeks before my [fight] up in some cold weather," Lawler said. "He must have been talking to not my people. Somebody must have sold them on me actually going up there."

Not only did Lawler, 33, say he never had any contact with the store, he added that he would never do an appearance that close to his fight in that kind of climate. Lawler trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla. A message left with one of the store's owners was not immediately returned Monday afternoon.

"I think he just talked to the wrong guy," Lawler said. "He didn't talk to my people. I wasn't injured and I definitely wasn't going up to Canada four weeks before my fight."
