Invicta bantamweight fighter Miriam Nakamoto is getting a second chance in her career after Joe Rogan offered to shoulder her medical expenses.

Muay Thai fighter Miriam Nakamoto had just begun her MMA career in 2012 when it was derailed a year later due to a knee injury. Now 42 years old, “The Queen of Mean” remains sidelined, still unsure about a comeback.

It wasn’t until UFC analyst Joe Rogan offered to shoulder all of her medical expenses for treatment, giving a bit of optimism for a return in the near future.

Nakamoto revealed the news via a recent Instagram post.

For all the public exposure he gets Rogan has a really guarded private life. The little bits that do get out suggest he's a really good dude. Apparently he's also a really generous tipper.

ha he often hints at how much of a vicious bastard he can be when people approach him, esp with family, which is understandable.

so if you see him out, feel free to go get your own JRE but it will likely feel different from him counting down the start of your conversation, and greeting you excitedly..

He said if he lends a friend money, he jut tells them to keep it as he doesn’t want the friendship to go away if he doesn’t get the money back and the friend starts hiding from him and things get awkward
He said “generally speaking you’ll never get that money back and I don’t want awkwardness between us....if you need a little help in a time of need I help you as a friend”
Though I think it stops at one lend because they’ll just keep going back to the well

It's good to see Joe actually follow through on something for a change. I'm still waiting for the Joey Diaz hour special he said he'd produce a few of years ago, and again last year. He also championed the idea of having a podcast network, which makes sense given the popularity and profitability of his own enterprise, but it ended up being Bill Burr and Al Madrigal that actually made it happen, and more recently Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky over at Your Mom's House. No doubt he helped a lot of comedians grow their audiences, and championed some of the more under appreciated stand-ups, like Ian Edwards, but the best you can hope for is opening for Joe on the road...which is still a great thing, don't get me wrong. Let's not forget Brian Redban, who's like the Sam Simon of podcasts, minus the massive royalty checks.

You think it's a coincidence that Netflix did a stand up series with a bunch of Rogan buddies?

Are you talking about The Degenerates? Yes, I think it's mostly a coincidence.

oh for fuck's sake. it's the internet. there's no place for being reasonable or conciliatory. you edit your post right away and profess a willingness to see that guy die in a terrible accident

I'm only saying it's a coincidence in regards to Rogan. The more likely explanation is that Christina P., Joey Diaz, and Big Jay are all repped by CAA. Joe Rogan is represented by WME.
