Does he realize he already missed the fight?

On a serious note how long would he have been out? Vs how long he can go before it's really fucked? I'm no doctor (as some may have guessed ) but ignoring injuries can't be ideal protocol.

Anyone wanna weigh in and tell me why he would do that?

So, he missed the fight because of a torn meniscus, and now wants to fight the same guy he just bailed on because of a torn meniscus, before have it fixed? Makes perfect sense.

I had a small tear in my rotor cuff which hurt like a fucking bitch, but it healed after a couple of months. I have no idea if the meniscus can do the same.

i don't know enough about meniscus but apparently it can be healed without surgery depending on seriousness:
Presently, treatments make it possible for quicker recovery. If the tear is not serious, physical therapy, compression, elevation and icing the knee can heal the meniscus.[13] More serious tears may require surgical procedures.

Luckily I do know about it.

That is accurate. Throw a rock on the street you might hit someone with a torn meniscus and they never knew they had it.

Symptomatic pro athlete? Most will get it fixed because it WILL flare up again with training.
You go in with a camera, find the tear and shave it out into a smooth edge.
Recovery time for the average joe? 3-4 weeks. Pro athlete faster. On some less than legal substances? even faster.
That's faster than any sort of rehab he is planning.

Story doesn't add up IF he had a torn meniscus AND he had pain from it while training AND he wants to be a pro fighter.
