I like Rose, one of my favorite fighters. She wasn't trying to butter up Michelle with those compliments, they have trained together multiple times and from everything I've heard, like each other a lot.
After they trained together, I asked Rose on the UG how a fight between them would go and Rose said it would be insane... "fireworks, explosions and shit" is what I think she said. Heh Heh.
They have both grown a lot since then, technique AND physically. It would probably be a hell of a fight.
I would lean towards it being competitive.... but honestly, I would question Rose's mental state going into it. She usually says the right things, but I've always got a feeling with Rose that she builds up a internal hate towards her opponent that fuels her performances. This is rooted in her shitshow of a childhood. I wonder if she can work up that kind of seemingly needed emotion towards Waterson, who she seems to genuinely like. Even though she is an emotional person, I see Michelle's in-cage performance rooted more in focus on technique and if there is any emotional component, it's based more on providing for her family, protecting her daughter. That shit is unwavering.
So even though they are probably matched evenly technique-wise, I'd give the mental edge to Michelle.... and I think it would win her the fight.
