Been posting for some time on here that the party's grip on power is a lot more tenuous than people in the West believe. Still, this story still seems filled with a lot of speculation and wishful thinking everywhere it's being reported. It'll be interesting to see what this means for US-China relations if true. Doubtful. There isn't much revolutionary organization right now for any kind of alternative system throughout the mainland and Xi has too many bought and paid for collaborators. It's more likely there will be a propaganda battle followed by some flare ups. The government bought some political capital with their COVID containment, but have wasted some of it with their crappy vaccines.
