Heading into 2018, Sean O’Malley looked poised to be one of the UFC’s hottest prospects. The then 23-year-old hit the Octagon fresh off a flashy first round KO over Alfred Khashakyan, during the inaugural season of Dana White’s Contender Series. He followed that performance with a debut win over Terrior Ware, and a hard fought decision over Andre Soukhamthath just a few months later.

The win against Soukhamthath, however, was just the start of O’Malley’s troubles. In the fight he badly injured his foot, sidelining him for most of the rest of the year. Then, an October booking against Jose Alberto…

Been a long ass time since he last fought. Dudes got catching up to do. Needs to get a minimum of 3 fights in 2020.

Let’s see if he still has the “it” factor. He may never wear gold, but if the UFC matchmakers are smart with his opponent selection and bring him along slowly, he will be marketable for them until he hits his inevitable fight ceiling.

Never heard of him.
For his own good I hope he has a Jimi Hendrix 8-track in his Vega.

Fun fighter. Pretty sure there was fuck all wrong with his foot in the end tho. Unless I'm remembering it wrong. ( I usually have a good memory, it's why I'm the greatest bumper of all time)

Never seen him fight, never heard him talk. Just seen his ridiculous appearance.

The only reason I know the name is because Luke Thomas' former little Mexican sidekick was obsessed with this new 'star' Sean O'M-i-ley (while Luke pronounced it correctly) and I was always fascinated how a star could be both someone I've never heard of, and someone whose name the little Mexican couldn't even pronounce.

For those that are unclear, looking like a twat and having your best win be a decision over a guy who is 2-5 against low-level UFC competition does not make you a star.

Glad to see him getting back in the cage. He's a fun dude who has swagger. He also makes bank outside of the UFC on Twitch just based on his "star" power.
