saskatoon is surrounded by dirt poor indian reserves.regina is too.im talking third world poor.the govt give them millions and they just dont get it together.the natives are violent and have street gangs out there.the cops just had enough of dealing with the same people time and again and take them for a ride out of town in the middle of winter(-40) and drop them off in the middle of nowhere no shoes no coat and leave them to die. its pretty fucked up.its murder.

where I live I am surrounded by reserves, and I have a pretty low opinion of native indians, but I wouldnt wish that on anyone, even my worst of enemies.

The reservations in America are fucked as well. Had a few buddies in the Marines that were NA's and they would tell us all the fucked up shit that happens on them.

the reserve where i live is rich as hell.the chief is a multi millionaire.the former chief is a multimillionaire living in the south of france.most of the indians live just like everyone else off reserve.there is only a few poor families.how does an indian chief get rich?by milking the federal govt and sticking money in his own pockets.you sure arent retiring to the south of france at 55 on 85k a year.

You really could. French property prices aren't massive and if you are willing to put in some work it is very doable. I know a builder who has bought a place in the south of France for 100k or there about, it's a cottage that needs a lot of work, but he can do it himself. I think he estimated the costs would have been 20-50k(I can't remember) if he had to get someone else to do it.

All told, Derrickson's holdings are worth an estimated $100 million.

Pretty good for a guy with a Grade 8 education.

His lack of formal schooling aside, Derrickson, 59, possesses the acumen and shrewdness to match the business wherewithal of any MBA or CEO. And rather than allowing his First Nations (read: income tax free) status to hinder him, he's managed to exploit it to maximum advantage. Along the way, he has locked horns with politicians from the local to federal levels, served six terms as chief of the Westbank Indian band, been the subject of numerous formal inquiries and even a Royal Commission, won one of the largest libel suits ever in Canada, and was badly beaten in a murder attempt by a hired hit man

I wasn't denying he had a lot of money. Just disputing that you couldn't retire to the south of France at 55 if you earnt 85k a year.

Ive heard from a few people that the chiefs steal a lot of money and fleece the people they are supposed to look out for.

There was a crackdown a few weeks ago too where a chief was seen taking a lot of money and not spreading it out for their community. the government needs to fix that problem. Post the money given to all the people in the reservation so they know and there is some accountability and so the top dude doesnt steal it all.
