this was a huge HW fight we never got to see. both were undefeated coming into the summer of 2010. Cain was 8-0 (7 ko/tko, 1 dec) with wins over Kongo, Rothwell & Big Nog. Carwin was 12-0 (7 ko/tko, 5 subs) with wins over Gonzaga & Mir. they both fought Brock in 2010. Cain won, Carwin lost. though many think the fight should have been stopped and Carwin beat Lesnar in the 1st round. both subsequently lost to JDS in 2011.

these two, (along with JDS & Lesnar) were the new generation of HW's after the Fedor/Cro-Cop/Big Nog era. Carwin was, imo, the toughest fight for Cain at the time. if these guys fought around 2010 right around before the Brock fights, who takes it?

I haven’t seen either fight in at least 5 decades. Whomever has the healthier hips and denser bones these days.

Cheick Kongo dropped Cain a few times, but he couldn't find a way to stay off his back. I think Carwin would have put him away, once hurt.
