Looked like Semmy was close to getting a standing full nelson at around the 8:00 mark.

Imagine how different the sport might have looked today had Semmy won that epic clash.

MMA still isn't ready for the higher level slapfighters.
It needs to EVOLVE longer.

It was a fateful night for the art of slapfighting - Schilt had an off night, the pressure of defending Grandmast Calo's art clearly weighed heavily on him.

Even the normally serene Calo seemed uncharacteristically testy - imploring Schilt to "throw more slaps" - even calling him a 'dudenkoffer' - but to no avail.

Sadly, the image of slapfighting, that venerable Somolian martial art, has not recovered to this day.
