I dont know why I mentioned the seconds-only method for lengths over a minute. I've seen it and used it, so it works. but aside from anything less than 70s (atleast for me), doing the mental math would take a second or two longer than typing the extra characters

(I've never used the "0" in front of a single digit minute. some evil person has lied to you with that bit)
