Chael Sonnen gives his analysis of Jon Jones's comeback performance -- and it's not a flattering one.

Chael Sonnen wasn't impressed with Jon Jones's performance at UFC 197. During an ESPN broadcast the loud-mouthed UFC veteran zinged the former UFC light-heavyweight and now interim light-heavyweight champion for his rather unspectacular win over Ovince Saint Preux on Saturday.

I did too but Chael didn't really impress me at all. All he did was exploit a weakness of Silva. How do you win for almost 25 min and while on top lose with a sub that you have lost with about 10 other times. Talk about not evolving at all.

Well yeah, some cage rust was to be expected, there's no way he was going to come back from all the bullshit he's been involved in over the last year and be at his best. Especially when he was training for a short orthodox wrestler/boxer and a few weeks out had to readjust for a tall southpaw kickboxer style. You're going from fighting your arch nemesis to get your belt back, to some guy that nobody expects to cause you any trouble. There's going to be motivation issues that come with that as well.

But let's put it into context: he came back and made easy work of the #6 guy in the division.

Jon has put on a lot of muscle since the USADA deal. His dead lift went from 275 to 600. Literally says the opposite of your claim.
Jon's lackluster performance had nothing to do with his physical capabilities. Everything he tried worked, he just didn't do much.
He looked SHREDDED. Even more than before.

So, what evidence do you have to support the fact that USADA changed Jon's performance? I personally suspect you just made an unwarranted accusation about a fighter that you dislike.. which could be seen as bashing, right @nick diaz nut hugger?

He was very careful to make the wording ambiguous enough to argue otherwise. He could say, for example, that he was just referring to the IV ban, something DC suggested in an interview after 197.

Imo it should constitute fighter bashing, but I don't know if the mods will agree.
