“Thunderbeast” is returning to the Bellator cage.

Unbeaten Team Quest lightweight Steve Kozola made a big impact in his Bellator tentpole debut on March 31, rocking Jake Roberts with a wicked left hand en route to a 28-second knockout.

On Oct. 6, Kozola will look to build on his impressive finish, as he meets Carrington Banks in a prelim bout at Bellator 184 in Thackerville, Okla.

Kozola brings an 8-0 record into the bout. All the San Marcos, Calif. resident’s victories have come by way of finish within two rounds, the last seven by KO or TKO. He’s a combined 4-0 in Bellator and World Series of Fighting.

Banks himself is an up-and-comer who has proven to be no pushover. He takes a 6-0 record into the fight and is 2-0 inside the Bellator cage.

I think you and I are the only ones that care about Bellator. But I have Kozala here; does Carrinton just lnp for the most part? Like Usmann?

Nah. Maybe some of the few who care to the degree that we do, but definitely not the only ones who care.

I can't remember seeing him fight, but of his 6 wins, his last 4 have come by decision. So that's probably a safe bet.

Regardless, I have seen a couple of Kozola's fights and feel safe picking him here. But an undefeated fighter is undefeated for a reason, so I don't imagine this will be easy.

Bellator is a great organization. One that i admit i haven't watched a ton of in the past but is now the org i prefer to watch.

Kozola is a KO specialist. As the fight goes on he has more and more chances of getting a clean connection on Banks. I can't see Banks grinding out a decision in this fight

.

Correct. You folks are in deep on Bellator. I try to watch when I can but don't know the roster in and out like you do.

And Banks is definitely a wrestler and not much else from what I've seen. He's really solid and quick as hell but hasn't rounded out his game from what I remember.

Kozola is a stud. He could and should win this but if he isn't careful Banks could end up snuggie-ing the fuck out of him.

Yeah got to go with Kozala, should be interesting to see if Kozala is the next best thing in this division. Bellator needs a new LW superstar, i'm wondering when Chandler will go to the UFC soon? Or if his leg will be his down fall, if you watch his first fight with Eddie, Eddie was able to make his leg go limp due to a low kick.

I don't think Chandler's going anywhere- Bellator pays and treats him well.

Brent Primus, Derek Campos, Dave Jansen, Adam Piccolotti, Derek Anderson, Goiti Yamauchi, Djamil Chan, Zach Freeman, Georgi Karakhanyan, Kevin Souza, Steve Kozola, Carrington Banks, Mihail Nicca, Aaron Pico, Tywan 'Speedy' Claxton

^ all good, young LW' s ready for their time in the spotlight.

I dont think so, I believe he wants to fight and beat the best. He has admitted to having no loyalty to bellator, and is looking out for what is best for him. Zach Freeman, and Primus arent very good. The only ones worth noting are Yamauchi, Chan, Anderson and Piccoloti. Karakhanyan isnt good, Kevin Souza is aight, Mihail Nicca(not so sure). Pico and Tywan are prospects, kind of hard to be sold on them yet. Either way Bellator needs more LW talent bc they are starving right now.

I'll check it out later. I'd rather not see him go, but if he did- at least we'd finally get to see Chandler vs Alvarez 3
I much rather see Ferguson vs Chandler. If Chandler plans on leaving he better do it soon. He is only getting older and as time passes he will get more shot as a fighter and the competition will get better. Also i'm starting to wonder if his leg is his weakness. That isn't the first time it has gone dead before.
