    “The Fireball Kid” will get the chance to compete in front of his home fans for the first time in three years.

    Former PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi will take on Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night in Saitama, Japan on September 23rd. MMAjunkie confirmed the matchup on Friday.

    Gomi (35-13, 1 NC) has lost four straight, all by stoppage, and with virtually no signs of actually being competitive in any of them. His most recent bout was in June against Jon Tuck, who hurt him to the body and then submitted him with a rear-naked choke at UFC Singapore.     Kim fights at 170 and is huge.

    maestro kim is one of those korean fighters that can win almost every fight by judo if they choose not to get into a firefight, dude is a beast

    They should've made Gomi vs Kawajiri 2 when they had the chance. Also, I think the UFC won't let him go because he will end up at Rizin and they don't really want that.
