Last Z was 332hp and despite less horsepower and noise was faster than the challenger. Nissan need to make one because I can't afford a gtr

Just offer an entry level skyline and keep the GTR special like the rest of the world

With EV torque and lack of cooling issues, it always seemed natural to me that we should be seeing them as SUVs and Trucks instead of tiny cars going 150 miles. But I guess that's the tech and battery improvements taking time
You've kind of got it backwards. EV systems generally run hot as fuck. The tech is best for trucks, truck guys are too insecure to buy HV/EV's. There were hybrid Tundra rumors flaoting around a few years back, the story went that they couldn't keep driveshafts in them.

I was mostly thinking about towing limitations where in short runs a gas or diesel truck can do a lot but get limited by regulations with cooling and whatnot.
I thought EVs ran hot requiring a big cooling system but didn't really change??? == Great towing platform with all that downlow torque???

Oh, yeah. It's fucking kickass, but good luck convincing some coal rolling asshole that a whisper quiet electric truck is a better option.

What?

What?

Thought the variation in EV heat when towing was not substantially different than the baseline cooling need. Perhaps that's wrong.

Reasonably correct, I misunderstood what you were referencing when you said "lack of cooling issues"

Havent looked too much into EVs but aren't cold climates supposed to be a stumbling block? From the batteries struggling in the cold, to charging problems and power to the brakes and such

Yeah that's all I was referencing. There are many 1/4 and half ton trucks that can tow a lot more if it weren't for heat. It gets strange when you see a diesel added to a platform and the torque goes up and the towing capacity goes down. My understanding is that is the heat related when they put them through modern trials going up and downhills and whatnot.

You'd have to add bigger brakes ( maybe more regenerative braking then?), but with the low center of gravity (batterypacks low down), stable cooling numbers, insane torque...it seems like you could do a lot of 3/4 ton stuff with a half ton truck... All while getting awesome mileage when you're not towing.

I don't know a lot about the details. Belobog @Belobog it's pretty educated on it. But I do know cold makes the range suffer currently.

Ummm, a half ton truck that does the work of a 3/4 is a 3/4...

I also kind of wish people would purge that meaningless term from their vocabulary, but I digress.

Derpy derpy. You're requiring me to be extra choosy with my words to make a point.

Plug EV into existing platform and the truck gets better. Mostly through towing.

There. Done?

Yes, sort of. Personally, I think HV would be a better solution than EV assuming you're talking about EV's in the sense we're used to them (like a Tesla)
