Know a really easy way to not have to buy packs and bags?
In Canada it’s illegal to operate a motorized watercraft under the influence of prescription pain killers.

Him stoned out of his gourd, splashing around in giant rubber boots, playing ‘Ghostbusters’ is the safest for everyone involvied.

I hope these types of post stop when you start to catch some fish.

I did 5 more bundles of willow branches. Ranging from 8 feet tall to 4 feet tall. Sunk the 3 tallest ones on a creek that's about 13-15 feet of water and the 2 small ones in 8 feet of water off a point out in the main lake.

Shoveling clay mud into sandbags sucks. So does pruning willows. I really need to fill the sand bags at the ramp before I do this.
I also forgot water and became dehydrated because it was hot today and I'm an asshole who didn't drink enough water.

These fish better get to my brush piles if they know what's good for them.
I think I have like 7 or something so far.
With you being a seasoned Texan and a Marine, I’m disappointed to hear that you went out unprepared with respect to water/hydration.

I still love you, but pay for your sins by over hydrating tonight. Whiskey counts as fluid intake. ?

Yea it was stupid. I normally keep a gallon rtic jug on the boat. I was in a rush and wanted to make it back before my son's bedtime. I am starting to feel better now.

Buy a large cheap bag of dog food. Throw a few scoops on each brush pile.

(I'm sure you knew this, too.)

I picked up a minnow trap and put some dog food in. I definitely did not do this because of Shinkicker @Shinkicker 's recommendation. No way, no how. Also grabbed a new smaller casting net and bait bucket, my last bucket bounced out of the boat last weekend.

Solid day on the water. Spent most the day using my sinking line and brown Woolley bugger. Handful of bites, lost one before the net and got one in the boat.

This was heartbreaking

My feet were going numb so I decided to change out reel to a floating line and dry fly and cast into the shallow on my way back. Caught using a Tom Thumb in about 8’ of water.

That guy is going into the pan in 10 minutes.

Keep em wet if you’re putting them back, and wet your hands before handling! Nice fish though!
