UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem has had a distinguished career. The PRIDE, DREAM, Strikeforce, K-1 and UFC veteran has almost seen it all (a UFC title shot notwithstanding), but it's uncertain exactly what the future holds for the former kickboxing and MMA champion.

Up first: a long-anticipated bout with former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC on FOX 17 in Orlando, Florida on Saturday. That bout will serve as the co-main event of the fight card.

After that? Well, it's anyone's guess.

As Ariel Helwani first reported on UFC Tonight on Wednesday, Saturday's bout is the last of Overeem's current contract with the UFC. After Saturday's contest, the Greg Jackson-trained heavyweight will attempt to test his value on the open market.

Rizin has a good shot of signing more fighters like Overeem and making a big impact imo. Hope he goes to Rizin

i wouldnt be surprised when or lose he doesnt show up in another organization. It isnt about the fights anymore its all about the business and I imagine sponsorship wise he was making a mint.

Even if Reem moves on, it isn't like we may not see him back. I don't trust MMA fighters/boxers/combat athletes with their retirement announcements, much less see any finality with their promotional moves.
