I’m headed out to the lake to try and get 3 hrs in before a storm is supposed to roll in here. Put the boat in last Friday but the waters gene high a pretty murky due to all the rain we’ve had. Fishing’s been tough. Hopefully it’s a bit better today.
Nice! You caught a natural flesh light.
That's one hell of a crappie.
Those are three different one's. All three were over 14" long. Notice how light they are? Been in deep water all winter. Caught about a dozen today, and they were around 3 ft deep & tucked in structure (downed trees), but the water depth was 18ft. So they're suspended way up in the water column as temp's rise into the 70's.That's one hell of a crappie.
A lot of good fishing in Florida to be had near the shore in a kayak. Seasickness shouldn't be an issue with that.Being in Florida, I wished I loved this
only been deep sea fishing once
all blue fish and threw up on my friends
been asked to go again but I’ve been scared
That's the great thing about crappie. You catch one, you're likely going home with a good bunch for dinner. My favorite pan fish, only ones worth bothering to fillet. Those are three different one's. I could fish off the broken bridge as it is probably no issue.A lot of good fishing in Florida to be had near the shore in a kayak. Seasickness shouldn't be an issue with that.
Been playing with the idea of buying a Hobie or a competitor to start doing that rather than being one of shore poor.
Mine as well. Like Red Ear and Bluegill also, and there's some monsters in this lake. But crappie is my favorite...to catch and eat. That's the great thing about crappie. You catch one, you're likely going home with a good bunch for dinner. My favorite pan fish, only ones worth bothering to fillet.
I thought they looked really light colored. Those are three different one's. All three were over 14" long. Notice how light they are? Been in deep water all winter. Finally got a bait tank set up. Found a 55 gal aquarium with pump filter and aerator for 45 bucks. Now I just need to catch a bunch of panfish next weekend so I'll be ready to go when the water warms up enough for catfish. View attachment 154259
