Ironic that when Canada starts talking about sending oil to China and Aluminum to Europe things suddenly change with a 30 day pause.
Didn't the U.S. float EU sanctions?

So, what happened here?
What concessions were given by whom?

The USA doesn't have the type of refineries that allow them to process their own type of oil.
Even if we didn't, we can always build em.

I did refinery turnaround work. Those bastards work QUICK.

Nothing you guys can do that we can't.

And that's not a slight against Canada. It's just a fact.

Not sure where you heard that but yes we do

This
We don't have enough refineries. We send a tremendous amount of unrefined oil outside of the country to be refined and sent back. With current environmental law, it's basically impossible to build a new refinery in the US. The ones that do operate have fines and penalties built in to regular operating costs. It's ridiculous.

So?

We're America. If we need it done, we'll do it.

And if you've worked with those types of guys like I have, you know just as well as I do that they're more than capable and always ready. I can't imagine their Canadian counterparts are any different. Those dudes are the literal backbones of nations.

Because we haven't really needed to when you would do it for 60cents on the American dollar.
I love Canada and most Canadians, but don't get ridiculous Douglas.
No, because you can't.

You cannot afford to.

No one in the USM wants to pay 6 bucks a gallon.
