It was impressive primarily because of the short notice and the size difference.

But the commentary and narrative surrounding the fight was weird. They were acting like he was fighting an ex-champ, rather than a novelty act journeyman in his 2nd UFC fight. What on earth made people think Pereira was some sort of elite fighter?
