It was ticking along just fine until Trump fucked it up.
Relations were thawing. There were still huge wrinkles such as nazreen zahari etc but generally speaking Europe was happy. Germany and France were considering opening factories and business there same as the UK. It looked like the soft diplomacy might work.
Then Trump got in and straight away went visting the Saudis and Israel who told him what to do and it all changed.
The biggest losers in this are the Iranian people. The sanctions don't affect the high ups in Iran it affects the lower class. And when they protest 2 things happen. They get shot or they get put in jail. There will be no uprising if thats the plan of the sanctions, just slow torture for the people.
At least Obama had a plan and it was demonstrably working.
We have gone back 20 years and all Trump has achieved in the middle east is give Russia territorial advantage and unbelievably unite Iraq and Iran towards a common enemy.
