They discuss the meaning of socialism, whether Bernie's policies fit that label, and what reaction to them has been like. Not a lot of dollar and cents calculations in this discussion, but an interesting disentanglement of terms.

Does that exist anywhere? That's the only thing I truly care about.

I watched this earlier today and all neoliberal Paul Krugman could come up with was Bernie was using Democratic Socialist in a proper manner but people were interpreting it incorrectly which is somewhat true

I think wolf called him out on it appropriately but Krugman and his ilk are trying to get the shit back into the horse and that ain't going to happen

You will end up with nothing under his plan. His policies will tax the rich, kill jobs as a result and you will be on welfare

If America abandons it’s retarded healthcare system, what will fund all the research that saves lives in countries where they have socialist medicine like mine?

You have to keep it.

Here's what people don't realize with a greater redistribution of capital the economy will explode with growth

Hording by greedy people leads to stagnation and instability

You dont tax the shit out of people that provide jobs. No one with jobs means no one getting taxes taken out of their checks and no money getting put into the economy by buying products. Less jobs also means less producing which means shittier economy, etc

Again. You think jobs will exist if you tax companies and rich to shit? Open your eyes. They will automate jobs.. look at the states with minimum wage raised.. they cut jobs in half or went out of business..or moved out of that state

You think rich people are all of a sudden stop employing people when if redistribution is done like I'm saying will require more employees?

That's not how it works man

You have 0 clue what you are talking about. Look up states that raised minimum wage to 15 dollars. They cut jobs in half or even moved or went elsewhere. You being hopeful for sanders plan shows how you dont know shit about how things work

Which is why we may need to go with yangenomics in the not so distant future

yes some jobs may need to be cut at first but long term more money in more people's hands lead to economic expansion and more jobs

Yang's plan of universal income was idiotic considering how great jobs growth is right now. That is why his promise of 1k a month was stupid as shit. Maybe in the future if a guy like sanders wins but not now when everything is booming and job growth keeps exceeding expectations

I'm not for 15 an hour nationwide some places it makes sense and others it doesn't

This is not accurate.

There are no states with a $15 minimum wage. Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Maryland have passed laws to phase in a statewide $15 minimum wage by 2024 or 2025.

Instead, many cities have enacted a $15 minimum. There has been no significant job loss and in many of these municipalities there have been employment increases.

Ontario has a 14$ minimum. It was supposed to go up to 15$ but the new government froze it.

we lost a lot of full time jobs that were replaced with part time jobs.

Then I stopped paying attention but nothing burned down, it’s all still here.

I bet you are glad I’m contributing my considerable knowledge to your thread.

They are slowly raising it in a number of years and it has already been failing. Companies have left states in preperation.. you guys are insane by the way...socialism ..you guys are agreeing on a dumb plan by bernie who himself doesnt know how much it would cost
