I'm all for less cards with better fights on them. This card seems pretty good, main card could do without Pettis vs Henry imo. I still think putting Alvarez on the prelims is retarded.

I don't follow anything else really either. I just liked it better when I knew majority of the fighters and their back story and genuinely got excited every fight night.

I definitely liked that time better too. But back then, I had more or a life. Now I'm free every weekend, so I'd watch every Saturday or Sunday. I'd like that routine

While less important in the Shitbok era where sponsors don't matter, more people will watch Alvarez-Poirier than Sergio-Cejudo. On cards with less star power, it's smart to have a potential barnburner to try and hook some extra viewers. They seem to have moved away from this idea recently, and maybe it was wrong.

This fight could be awesome, although it could also suck if Eddie Lay n Prays, whereas Cejudo Sergio is just another fight. They made the right call here.
