Once again, the UFC has denied that they've sold the company.

After months of rumors and mumblings, it was reported on Monday night that the UFC has accepted a bid of $4.2 billion to sell the company. Officials have since publicly gone on record to deny the news of any sale, and they have also sent an internal memo about it as well.

The email sent to all UFC employees has been obtained by MMA Junkie, and it also hinted at possibly taking legal action against media outlets.

"A report today by FloCombat.com indicating that the company has been sold is false. This follows other false speculation in the press recently."

"Such misrepresentation of facts in the media negatively impacts our business, staff members and athletes. We have instructed our attorneys to investigate and take all…

If it's true that they haven't sold, I really hope everyone starts ignoring Jeremy Botter for good though.

They are going to go out trying to micro manage shit that doesn't matter much. I'm sure they've accepted the bid, but they are going to milk that last bit of juice from ufc 200 before all the proper signatures of the sale are finalized. Then they are going to have a "huge announcement", kind of like the UFC dolls.

For all the progress zuffa has made with the UFC since the acquired it, they have never been able to figure out how to make an "Announcement" lol

That said if it's actually true and they haven't sold they might have a case against the outlets that have reported it. If you're an employee or even another company you would jump ship or decide to pass on a deal with the ufc if you began hearing rumors of a sale. That stuff falsely getting out there could really negatively effect their business.

Imagine if they faked it all to get ariel, I know it's not true but just imagine.

I think they saw they're getting no media coverage from news of the sale due to the NBA finals so they decided to suppress it until after 200 and release the news at a time when they can get maximum PR value over the changeover. Also, as it's just a bid acceptance, there's finalizing to do which precludes disclosure.

RIP Zuffa.

Can't say that I feel sorry for any Zuffa employees who believe the internal memo. They know who they're working for. If you lie down with dogs you get fleas.

GSP mentioned the possible sale of the UFC on yesterday's MMA Hour, and holding off on negotiations (signing anything) until it's finalized.

They should sue everybody......for punitive damages
Meh. They're gonna get their $4.2 billion. UFC 200 will still do 1.5 million buys. Suing would be a waste of money and a lot of people's time. Lorenzo and BLAF should go blow $500k on blackjack tonight, have a lobster dinner, send a few "what r u up 2 tonight" texts, and enjoy the fruit of their labor...instead of worrying about controlling something they can't control.

When a company sells, the employees and contractors get very nervous. By waiting to make an announcement until the very last minute, I think the UFC is just trying to prevent the normal things that happen like employees leaving, theft, sabotage... until the lawyers are done with all the paperwork.

But they are not doing it right lol.

I am sure the Sale is 100% done, but Zuffa wants to cash in on UFC 200 and thinks the news of the sale will hurt the profits. Sale done and soon the UFC sinks or swims

I also find the reports that state its the biggest transaction in sports, while what they are comparing the potential sale to is teams in a bigger organization, if the UFC went up against os sale of the entire NFL or MLB it would actually be a cheap deal, but comparing the UFC to individual teams is apples to pears.
