Why was Smith so mad? Missed his interview.

Apparently Spann had talked shit pre fight about Smith not being very good and apparently a lot of people have said that in Smith's career.

It sounded like a combination of Spann saying it and Smith's frustration with having heard it so many times from so many opponents.

Smith just looked really good. Spann looked like a bum once he was punch drunk.
Nah, he looked like shit from the outset.

That doesn't take anything away from Smith - it's not like he went 5 hard rounds with a guy fighting like a can. He crushed said can, which is all you can do.

Fair enough. Smith is a good fighter, he's just not a genetic lottery winner and he came up the hard way, not getting any shine. Such an easy guy to cheer for, too.

Eight UFC main events for him now, though. I'd like to see him crack ten, that's a significant achievement for him to hang his hat on. Ten main events in the UFC, nobody can say you weren't a world-class fighter.

I think he's a great fit as the headliner in these types of smaller cards, though.
