Why do they always say I’m not a gatekeeper when they do their job as gatekeeper. Adesanya-elite, Shabazz-not yet. Either way it’s a good win for Brunson, hopefully he can build off of it and get some bigger fights and make that money.
there is no shame in being a gatekeeper . being a gatekeeper in the ufc is higher than most fighters on the planet will ever rise . not everyone can be top talent

Yep
Often the best fighter on earth at a given time ends up a gatekeeper putting on good fights after his prime is over
Nothing wrong with that at all

brunson looked good but shabazian looked like shit as well. he had no gas in the tank and he was basically done at the end of the second
Brunson is a gatekeeper in the positive sense of the word.

Dude lost a split decision to Kendall Grove earlier in his career, but apart from that he has lost to Romero (in a fight he was winning), Jacare x 2, Whittaker, Israel and got robbed vs Anderson. Nothing but the truly elite.

Brunson outwrestled Yoel. People were foolish to think this Edmond-trained striker could keep Brunson off him.
